A seamless combination of ripe, rich textures and finesse . . .  firm but not bitter or tannic.  Its luxurious nose and deep garnet color demands a sip. 

The wine is fruit forward and ripe, with notes of black cherry, red currants and violet.  A hint of black pepper and subtle new oak on the nose add to the complexity.

Retriever's smoothness makes it extremely drinkable now, but will be at its peak in 2010.
